Pod Volunteer – Bursary Scheme to volunteer in India

Are you looking to volunteer overseas, but finding it financially difficult to take up the opportunity you really want? Then you might benefit from the Pod Volunteer Bursary!

Pod Volunteer is an award winning non-profit organisation arranging ethical, inspiring and supported volunteering opportunities. They have launched a bursary scheme to help remove the financial barrier that people may face when looking to join a volunteer placement. The Pod Volunteer Bursary Scheme is open to everyone, you just need to be at least 18 when you start volunteering.

The bursary allows 2 volunteers to join either the Animal Rescue or Community Education projects in India for 4 weeks. You can learn all about the bursary here: www.podvolunteer.org/bursary

You can join the projects throughout the year, choosing the start date which suits you best. You will simply need to complete your volunteering within 2 years of being awarded the bursary.
Not only do volunteers in India get to be part of a fantastic project, they will also live with a warm and welcoming family and are able to learn about Indian culture, language and religions. Gaurav and Ravi who run the charity in India also organise trips for volunteers to see some beautiful sights of Rajasthan including a mesmerising marble temple and an impressive ancient fortress.

Gaurav, who runs the projects in India tells us how hosting bursary volunteers will help them:
“Volunteering is a two way street. The benefits of volunteering is by being a piece in the bigger picture and it can also benefit you as well as the cause you choose to help. By volunteering we can continue to help the communities and animals in need and the bursary volunteers will help us achieving our goals of providing better education and helping rescue injured street animals.”

You can find out more the Pod Volunteer Bursary scheme and submit your bursary application here: www.podvolunteer.org/bursary
