Ski Work in New Zealand

The ski-fields are a major tourist and leisure attraction in New Zealand. The ski season runs from June to October, and interviews for jobs will be held in April or May. You should submit applications for employment in March. The kinds of jobs available include everything from admin roles, to guest services, ski and snowboard instructors and restaurant staff.

There are about 24 public and private ski resorts in New Zealand, the vast majority of which are in the South Island. Some of the most popular South Island resorts include Treble Cone, near Wanaka, Mount Hutt near Canterbury, and Coronet Peak and the Remarkables near Queenstown. These resorts are very popular and extremely busy during high season, so make sure you’ve booked some  accommodation in advance. Tourism is the main source of seasonal employment on the South Island. The two resorts on the North Island are Whakapapa and Turoa.
