ICYE-UK has over 50 years experience of running international volunteer programmes
Saturday 19th September 2009
ICYE (Inter-Cultural Youth Exchange) is an ethical volunteering organisation with over 50 years of experience in international volunteering. ICYE volunteers live and work in countries throughout Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe, helping to support local NGOs and aid International development. As part of a federation, with a head office in Berlin and offices in over 30 different countries worldwide, ICYE ensures excellent training and support.
Volunteers can select the project that they would like to be involved with and ICYE can match volunteers to projects in a wide variety of fields, which is great for those who are looking to gain valuable work experience overseas in a certain sector. Projects range from HIV and AIDS awareness projects, to working with street children or in orphanages, to human rights or indigenous community groups as well as the environment and many more.
ICYE send gap year students, graduates, career break travellers, and other individuals to help some of the worlds most diverse NGOs. If you are 18 or over and you would like to find out more about how you can get involved, visit their website to find out more about attending one of their regular Information Days - held at Kilburn, London - to meet staff and returned volunteers!
