Top 3 Places To Visit – The Beach and Sea
Tuesday 30th October 2012
After giving it some thought and from our adventures around the world we have come up with a list of three beaches that we feel should be seen before you die.
1. The Great Barrier Reef, Australia
If you are planning a gap year to Australia then you must visit Queensland to see the Great Barrier Reef. The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef in the world and therefore is home to a diverse range of marine life. The reef has so many reef systems and is situated within tropical islands and some of the best golden sun-drenched beaches you will experience. Unfortunately the reef has become victim to neglect in recent years as well as experiencing may changes due to global warming. So, we recommend the sooner you get out there to experience this natural beauty the better!
2. The Beaches of Thailand
There are no better beaches than those that can be found in Thailand. Thailand and places such as Koh Lipe in the Southern Andaman Sea are considered paradise for those who love the sun and breath-taking beaches. Some of the best beaches are located on smaller islands which can only be reached by boat. These islands have the most amazing clear-blue waters, marine life and are often not huge tourist locations. These locations may seem off-the-beaten-track so to speak to gap year travellers but those willing to take the risk and spend time getting there away from the crowds will not be disappointed.
3. Miami Beach
Miami is home to some of the best beaches in America. It is also the ideal location to soak up the sun as well as the American people by people-watching. If you are looking for a party atmosphere then you have to visit the area called South Beach in Miami. This beach is one of the most famous beaches in all of America and is mainly known for its outrageous and vibrant nightlife. There are many open-air bars and nightclubs along South Beach that you will be spoilt for choice for the type of night out you fancy.
