The next British Ski & Snowboard Show 2011 will be held on the 28-30 October at the NEC Birmingham. This year’s show has even more exhibitors from travel companies, the very latest hi-tech ski and snowboard gear, displays and winter sports workshops to join in. If you’re interested in all things snowy, and are looking for an activity to base your gap year job on, then it’s the perfect place to find out all about the opportunities available in the snow.
The gap year jobs and resort work company, ResortWork is presenting a talk called: “Find out what’s it’s like to work a season” in the Talk Theatre, perfect for those of you thinking about embarking on gap year work in Europe, or further afield. The talk focuses on those considering a season on the slopes to find out more first hand about how to go about it. Resortwork will also have a Video Zone where resort workers and employers are invited to record their very own video diary. Other companies who are exhibiting include ski and snowboarding instructor training companies too.
The 2011 show also features a Big Air Show; Skill slopes; Talk theatres: Ice climbing; Film Festival; Equipment Expo, Tech Camp: Club lounges, and cross country skiing. The Big Air Demo team is back with some new stars to join the international line up. The mobile indoor slope will provide continual action offering free lessons in skiing, boarding and for the young children, tubing. A team of instructors will provide teaching and skiing demonstrations to anyone who wishes to have a go. All equipment is provided so arrive early and book your session. There’s also a faux ice wall to give you the opportunity to try out ice climbing, as well as talks and demonstrations on importance safety issues, best practices, fitness and avalanche awareness.
