Snow is already in the air

The first reports of fresh snow are starting to come in from the European Alps. La Plagne, Val Thorens and Chamonix are already enjoying at least 90cm of the white stuff at the top, and with the main ski season due to kick off in the next few weeks, many seasoned snow sports enthusiasts will have already dusted off their boots and equipment ready for the off. If you’re thinking about taking a gap year job or a career break why not work abroad in the snow sports industry? There are many exciting opportunities in the snow sports industry for gap year travellers.

If you’re already a snow sports addict, as a trained instructor, you’ll be in your element helping newbies and freshers learn to love the techniques and culture of the ski and snowboard life. But it’s not just instructor jobs that are available in the snowy regions, if you’re hoping to spend some of your gap year in the mountain resorts of Europe or Canada, you can also find work as chalet staff, chefs, nannies, hotel managers, porters, ski technicians or resort reps too.
