Plan. Pack. Explore Initiative

Tuesday 11th September 2012

Plan Pack ExploreHere at Gapwork.com we were really excited to receive an email from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) letting us know about the Plan Pack Explore guide that they were launching. Just like us the FCO feel that it is important to provide gap year travellers and backpackers’ with relevant information on planning a perfect year out.

We therefore recommend that you take a look at the Plan Pack Explore guide as it provides gap year travellers with all the information they require about travelling abroad. The information ranges from preparing for a gap year to getting working holiday visas. We feel that the most interesting information that it offer travellers is the advice that it gives on the role of the FCO if travellers get into difficulties abroad and what they can and can’t do to assist in any situation.

That is why the FCO feel that every traveller thinking about or going on a gap year should read this guide before they travel. They believe as do we that it is important to get fully prepared for your gap year adventure and also plan for any unforeseen eventualities. They therefore hope that through this advice that any preventable problems can be raised and be avoided.

The information is available online and there is a handy app available for you to download. The app contains useful information such as contact numbers for embassies, consulates and high commissions as well as the latest travel news from the FCO.

Remember, the same information is also available on our website in our dedicated plan your gap year section of the website. This section offers you a step-by-step process for planning your gap year starting at where to go and what to do to budgeting and finances and gap year insurance.

If you need any further advice or information on taking a gap year then you can always contact us via our Gapwork.com Facebook Page or by our Twitter Page. Why not ‘Like Us’ or ‘Follow Us’ to keep up-to-date with the gap year and gap work news as well as deciding to sign-up to our newsletter.
