Help Tackle Climate Change – Join in Earth Hour on March 26th 2011
Monday 21st March 2011
The WWF’s Earth Hour is this Saturday night at 8.30pm
At 8:30 PM on Saturday 26th March 2011, lights will switch off around the globe for Earth Hour and people will commit to actions that go beyond the hour to help combat climate change. By registering for Earth Hour you’ll be adding your support to the WWF’s message to the government that they want urgent action to tackle climate change and safeguard the natural world. It’s a reminder to us all that there is only one planet Earth, and it’s an urgent message that we want to reduce the impact our energy system has on that planet.
Celebrities are also getting behind the big event and include singers like Tom Jones, KT Tunstall and Alexandra Burke, actors like Colin Firth and Amanda Holden, sporty types like Gary Neville and Iwan Thomas, not to mention business guru Deborah Meaden, TV presenter Zoe Salmon, chef Tom Aikens and Earth Hour ambassador and model Miranda Kerr.
Earth Hour is organised by WWF, we are one of the world’s largest and most respected independent conservation organisations. Their mission is to stop the degradation of the Earth’s natural environment and build a future where people live in harmony with nature.
Earth Hour 2011 will take place on Saturday 26 March at 8.30pm (local time). Register now to take part.
